70+ Fests with ComFest, Love Fest, Pride Fests, an International Fest and a brand new Pickle Fest
It’s another big weekend of festivals and I’ve decided to start approaching these posts a little differently.
I realize that not everyone is planning to run all over the state for this festival or that, so I’m going to break down the festival landscape by the region of Ohio. Hopefully it will help you get a better idea of what’s out there and plan more accordingly.
Here’s what’s coming this weekend:
Northwest Ohio:
The festivals are spread out fairly evenly in the region with the Crosby Festival of the Arts in Toledo, the Maria Stein Country Fest, the Portage River Festival in Elmore, GroveFest at Fremont’s Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library and Museums, Sandusky Pride, and Pyrate Fest in Put-in-Bay. Also, the Henry County Rib Fest is now Feast Fest in Napoleon.
Northeast Ohio:
Lots of festivals in the Cleveland/Akron area and some over in and near Youngstown. Along with many parish festivals and city summer festivals, you have the Ohio Scottish Games at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds, Larchmere Porchfest in Cleveland, St. Demetrios Greek Festival in Rocky River, a Solstice Summer Celebration in Lakewood, the Lorain International Festival, Love Fest in Chardon, Ribs-N-Rock Festival in Youngstown as well as Youngstown Pride, the Blue Tip Festival in Wadsworth and the Ohio Viking Festival in Cortland.
Central Ohio:
The big fest this weekend is ComFest, but there’s also the London Strawberry Festival, Powell Festival, Summer at the Round Barn in Lancaster and the Historic Hilltop Bean Dinner (Columbus). A little farther out is Toast to Summer in Washington Court House.
Southwest Ohio:
There’s a new Pickle Fest in Miamisburg! There are also some Parish festivals, the Panegyri Greek Festival and a Tequila Fest in Cincinnati, and three Pride Festivals: in Middletown, Yellow Springs and Cincinnati.
Southeast Ohio:
The Appalachian Summer Solstice in Pomeroy. That’s the only fest I know about in this region at the moment.
