Toast to Summer – Washington Court House, Ohio – My Experience

This post documents my experience on June 24, 2017.

It was a beautiful day at the Fayette County Airport.

A biplane ride was going on above me…

…a guitarist was singing a Gordon Lightfoot song…

…and festival goers were purchasing beer and wine tasting tickets…

…before thoroughly exploring the grounds at the Toast to Summer festival.

With planes parked outside to be admired…

…all the hangars were filled with a large selection of vendors…

…selling art (Highland County BODD)…

…dreamcatchers (KT Crafts)…

…jewelry…

…custom woodworking (Dixie Mill)…

…beard products (Wonderful Whiskers)…

…and even some wine-related art…

…wine-related decor…

…and cute cork jewelry.

Speaking of wine…

…there were tons of wineries that came from Eaton (Olde Schoolhouse)…

…Cable (St. Ives)…

…Versailles (The Winery at Versailles)…

…Grove City (Plum Run) and 7 other cities…

…making it extremely difficult to decide on what tastings to try (Buckeye/Brandeberry).

And, although beer drinkers could get a local beer on tap through Fayette County’s first brew house (Pour Boys’)…

…most other beers came in bottles or cans either at the Beer Garden table…

…or via food vendors like Roosters and The Rusty Keg

…(the latter of which had very friendly staff).

A convenient tasting dump bucket made it easy to not overdo it…

…but, if you found yourself buying motorcycle raffle tickets for your grandma…

…there were quick ways to sober up via baked goods (Country Cakes and Bakes)…

…local barbeque (Horney’s)…

…or a very sobering thrill ride in a biplane
