ComFest, Country Fest, International Festival, Pyrate Fest, and 90 more festivals to celebrate this Ohio weekend.
Ohio, we are celebrating over 90 festivals this weekend with huge clusters around Cleveland/Akron, between Dayton and Cincinnati, around Columbus and a festival trail trickling down western Ohio.
One of the big festivals this weekend is ComFest (Review), or Community Festival, in Columbus. Goodale Park comes alive with a great assortment of vendors, delicious food, oceans of cold beer and more music than your ears can handle. It’s got a hippie vibe and it’s funky and there are art cars and all sorts of other surprises.
Other big festivals this weekend include the Lorain International Festival (Review) with all its ethnic dishes, the Maria Stein Country Fest (Review) with all the entertainment (trapeze show!), turtle soup and tractor square dancing, the Ohio Scottish Games (Review) at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds with clans, haggis, games and music, the Pyrate Fest (Review) in Put-in-Bay with sword fighting and treasure hunts, and the Crosby Festival of the Arts at the Toledo Botanical Garden with all sorts of fantastic artists.
Plus there are more festivals I would recommend, like the Heart of Ohio USA Days Festival (Review) in Centerburg, the Rail Festival (Review) in Dayton, the London Strawberry Festival (Review), and Summer Solstice Celebration (Review) in Peebles (next to the Serpent Mounds), the Sharon Showcase on the Circle (Review) in Sharon Center, and the Larchmere Porchfest (Review) in Cleveland.
But I haven’t been to everything and there still more festivals to consider.
For example, Pride is still going strong and there are festivals this weekend in Cincinnati, Yellow Springs, Middletown, Sandusky, and Oberlin.
If you like Ethnic/Cultural Festivals, you can also celebrate German, Ukrainian, Greek, Scottish, and Viking heritages.
And pickles. Do you like pickles? There a Pickle Fest on Saturday in Miamisburg.
Take a good look at this weekend’s festival listing, Ohio, because there’s a lot going on.
Church fests, community fests, Solstice celebrations, Music Fests, Beer Fests, balloon festivals, and more.
