Over 70 Festivals: Columbus Art, Pork Rinds, Poultry Days, YS Street Fair, Parade the Circle and more.
After being excited about 60+ festivals last weekend, I am happy to say that there are even more festivals this weekend – more than 70!
Like last weekend, there are still plenty of Strawberry Festivals (Bolivar, Rittman, Shandon, Bedford), Church Festivals, and Music Festivals. While Pride Month continues and there may be Pride Celebrations, there are 3 Pride Festivals I know about this weekend in Canton, Upper Arlington and Marysville.
Art Festivals are popular this weekend with the Columbus Arts Festival (Review) being the largest with over 200 artists, three stages of entertainment (music, poetry, storytelling), delicious food and more. Other Art Festivals can be found in Chagrin Falls (Review), Ironton, Bay Village, and Beavercreek.
Other particular festivals to take note of this weekend include the Harrod Pork Rind Festival (Review), which has freshly made pork rinds and cracklins (which I absolutely adore), Cleveland’s Irish influenced festival called The Hooley (Review), the biannual Yellow Springs Street Fair (Review), and the culturally rich Parade the Circle (Review) in Cleveland’s University Circle.
There are also plenty of festivals that I have not been to, but which sound rather intriguing.
For example, in LaRue, there is a festival called the Oorang Bang, referencing the Oorang Indians, a traveling NFL team of Native Americans with Jim Thorpe as the coach. It’s actually the 100th anniversary of the team and the celebration will include food trucks, a parade, craft vendors, live music, a duck race and more.
The Coolville Founders Day is also this weekend (I’m intrigued by any festival that takes place in a town called Coolville).
Some other festivals I am interested in attending include the Chocolate and Cheese Festival in Hudson, Poultry Days in Versailles and the Botkins Carrousel.
But there are still many more festivals I haven’t had the chance to mention.
Therefore, take your time and go through the festival listings below and the map to see if anything is going on around you.
I hope you find something fun (and delicious) this weekend. But if you can’t attend a festival this weekend, remember that there will be plenty more next weekend over Father’s Day Weekend.
