Columbus Arts Festival – Columbus, Ohio

The Columbus Arts Festival isn’t only the state’s best art festival with over 200 visual artists, there are also three stages for music, theatrical, poet and storytelling performances and plenty of great food. The location along Scioto Mile makes the perfect setting.

This post documents my experience on June 8, 2013.

I first attended the Columbus Arts Festival back in 2010 while the festival was temporarily displaced from its Riverfront location.

It was a pretty good experience…

…and you can read that experience here – https://ohiofestivals.net/9-columbus-arts-festival-june-4-2010/

…but I knew I had to go back…

…with the festival back  in its original location.

This year, there were more than 270 artists along various streets…

…and even two bridges…

…and I had to move pretty quickly to check out all the artists (CLICK if video doesn’t open).

Also at the Riverfront location…

…there were two music stages…

…a stage for poetry and other literary entertainment…

…a fountain to escape the heat…

…plenty of wine and grub…

…and a large kids’ area…

…with various activity stations…

…a children’s gallery…

…a local art tent…

…and an awesome Art Shark…

…who I got to see when I first walked onto the grounds (he’s at 0:48) (CLICK if video doesn’t open).

Although I honestly did move at a more believable pace…

…the walking did give me an appetite…

…and I decided to stop at Mikey’s Late Night Slice for the first time…

…and take advantage of the optional sauces…

…to decorated my slice a bit.

Whether it was the artistic setting or the flavorful delight I experienced in that first bite, I found myself returning to that sauce station…

…and creating a delicious palette for my crust.
