This post documents my experience on June 8, 2019.

Out at University Circle…

…families performed melodies…

…played games…

…and took part in all sorts of activities…

…as they got ready to celebrate The Cleveland Museum of Art‘s annual Parade the Circle.

Parade participants got ready in front of the museum…

…disguised as giraffes…

…lollipop kids…

…and elegant butterflies…

…as parade enthusiasts nabbed a spot along the curb…

…lining the street along the circle…

…or wherever they could find a shady spot.

In the meantime, visitors could relax at the Beer and Wine Garden…

…while enjoying a musical performance at the Kulas Stage (Cats on Holiday)…

…they could head to the food vendor area…

…for selections that included Italian sausage, pizza (Sophie’s/Rascal House)…

…gyros and barbecue (Original Greek/Beckham’s)…

…and they could take advantage of activities at the various booths…

…learning about pterosaurs from the Cleveland Museum of Natural History

…answering trivia questions for prizes from Cleveland Water

…exploring and playing various instruments, thanks to the Cleveland Orchestra and The Music Settlement

…and creating their own mythical animal with the help of the Women’s Council of the Cleveland Museum of Art.

There was also a stegosaurus to climb.

As the parade drew closer, the lawns began to fill…

…the food lines stayed strong…

…and, thanks to a quick Kettle Korn purchase (Buckeye Chocolate Company)…

…a late parade start was temporarily unnoticed.

But, eventually, a golden Rhino came into view…

…and there were smiles a-plenty as festival goers were exposed to fantastic costumes, floats, music and dance.
