It’s a beautiful Festival Weekend, festival fans.
As I compiled this weekend’s festivals together, I was amazed by how many there actually were. Take a look at the map below and check out all the pins representing the festival cities. It’s amazing!
This weekend, there are about 170 festivals throughout the states with impressive amounts in Ohio (40), Illinois (20) and Michigan (22). Of course, there would usually be more than this in a pre-Covid first weekend of June, but this is probably the largest amount of in-person festivals I’ve seen since Covid and I can’t hide my smile for the upcoming summer and fall.
In Ohio, Pride Month is kicking off with festivals in Dayton, Findlay, Hamilton. There’s a Railroad Festival in Dennison, a re-do of the Walleye Festival in Port Clinton (last weekend, there was flooding), the Peony Festival in Van Wert, some Parish Festivals in Willowick, Concord Township, and Toledo, and a great looking Flea event in Peninsula. Some festivals are having smaller versions of themselves, such as the Strawberry Jam in Troy instead of their usual Strawberry Festival and St. Rocco’s in Cleveland is having a Mini Festival Drive Thru, where they’ll be selling their famous zeppoli and sausage sandwiches.
So be sure to look at the full list below and check out some of my reviews if you’re interested in visiting a festival.
In the other states, here are some of the highlights…
