Ox Roasts, Cookies, the Summer Moon and Jumping Frogs, plus tons of Food and Music Festivals.
It’s definitely a great weekend for eating, Festival Fans, as there are many festival types that provide that opportunity.
One possibility is obviously the Cultural or Ethnic Festival offering, of which there are many. Just look along the list below and you will see Italian (Review), Asian (Review), Greek (Review), Irish, Serbian (Review), Ukrainian, African American, and Lebanese Festivals (and some of those cultures have more than one festival this weekend.
Another possibility is through the Food themed Festivals: Tomato, Pizza, Roasted Ox (Review), Ribs, Walleye, Cookie (Review), and Garlic.
There are also the Taste of Akron, Cincy Soul, and Brew and Food Truck Festival with all sorts of delicious dishes.
Buon appetito, Ohio!
There are also all sorts of Music Festivals, including the Nelsonville Music Festival, the Todds Fork Revival Music Festival, the Cincinnati Music Festival, Grateful Fest, Columbus Jazz and Rib Fest, Rockin’ the Rez, the Immortal Christian Rock Festival and the Dayton Blues Festival.
I should also mention that the Lancaster Festival will have music performances by Sheryl Crow and Andy Grammer (so expect some great music at even more festivals).
And then there are some more highly recommended festivals going on this weekend:
– Summer Moon Festival (Wapakoneta): A double festival in Neil Armstrong’s city of birth. Music entertainment, vendors, food and more can be found in the downtown location while the Armstrong Air and Space Museum will have inflatable rides, meet and greets, rocket launches, activities and more (Review).
– The Summer Market (Lorain): this shopping festival has really gotten bigger over the years and its Black River Landing location suites it well. (Review)
– Valley City Frog Jump Festival: a fun small-town festival where you can rent frogs to compete or bring in your own. There are also activities, food, vendors and more (Review).
There’s a lot to choose from (and eat at) this weekend, so go carefully through the list, read the reviews and reference the map to see what’s around you.
