Cultural Festivals, Tattoos, Pottery, Chicken, Lilies and 80 more festivals and fairs!
Now that many of you have a had a respectable pause from nearly two weeks of continuous festivals, things are kicking back up again. Honestly, though, since it’s officially County Fair Season as well, you may be able to find anywhere from 5-15 fairs on any given day.
But, in terms of festivals, this coming weekend’s festivals are just starting to pick up now and will really gain momentum on Thursday and Friday, giving the state nearly 80 festivals by the time the weekend is through.
There are plenty of Church Festivals and tons of Cultural Festivals. Sometimes, that means the same thing, such as the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish Festival (Review) in Cleveland, which is an Italian Festival, or the Ukrainian Village Festival (Review) in Parma, which takes place at a church. Other cultural festivals include the Feast of Santo Stefano del Lupo (Akron), the Cincinnati Celtic Festival, the Cleveland Irish Cultural Festival (Review), and the Grecian Festival in Canton.
Other notable festivals include:
– the Delta Chicken Festival: I’ve never been here but hope to go so that I can get a milkshake and a chicken dinner (usually starts serving after 5)
– the Crooksville-Roseville Pottery Festival: apart from the fact that I don’t know of many pottery festivals in Ohio, this one has wrestling matches as part of its entertainment
– Lilyfest (Review) in Rockbridge: an interesting festival hidden between some wooded areas with beautiful/natural festival grounds, great vendors and entertainment
– Cincy Blues Fest in Fairfield: this family friendly event has food trucks, a Kids Zone with games, and some great entertainment
– Headlands BeachFest (Review) in Mentor: head to Ohio’s longest beach to see sand sculptures, enjoy live music, shop vendors, take part in activities and get something to eat
– and the Last Call Street Festival in Athens: this festival concludes Ohio Beer Week with food vendors, live music and the coldest craft brews around.
And still there’s more to enjoy this weekend…
Maybe you’re looking for a festival that can help you change from the inside out?
Then the Starwood Festival in Pomeroy is for you.
Or maybe you just want to change a little from the outside in?
Then the Inkcarceration Music and Tattoo Festival (Review) in Mansfield would be a great fit.
Plus there are all sorts of Beer and Wine Festivals:
Scene Ale Fest in Cleveland, the Delaware Beer and Wine Festival, and Cleveland’s Uncorked Wine Festival.
Cleveland also has a Tequila Fest, if you need something a little stronger.
And maybe it’s a good weekend for the Islands. If so, you’ll be happy to know that there are festivals there as well.
Kelleys Island has Island Fest, Middle Bass Island has its Music Festival and, just barely on the shore, the Plein Air Art Festival will be going on at Lakeside.
So many festivals to enjoy this weekend, so be sure to take your time when going through this week’s listings. And also don’t forget to read the reviews and look to the map to see what’s around you.
