It’s the weekend of the Pumpkin Show, the Apple Butter Stirrin’ Festival, Fall Festival of Leaves, Black Walnut Festival and 50 more!
Welcome back, Ohio!
It’s a special weekend because of some of the festivals going on throughout the state.
Some of this weekend’s festivals are either festivals you should see at least once in your life or festivals I’ve been trying to get to for years (I may actually make it to one this year). And with the festival numbers dropping dramatically from week to week, it’s time to just put a coat and hat on and head to some festivals!
Festivals worth mentioning this weekend, which I’ve attended, include the following:
- Circleville Pumpkin Show (Review): Titled “The Greatest Free Show on Earth,” this is a monster of a festival with 2 parades a day (except Saturday), rides, giant pumpkins, vendors, craft demonstrations, and pumpkin foods galore. A must are the pumpkin donuts, but you can also get pumpkin ice cream, pie, cannoli, fudge, coffee, candies, and even pumpkin burger (puree pumpkin and ground meat). Do your best to get there early.
- Apple Butter Stirrin’ Festival in Coshocton (Review): The historic Roscoe Village’s biggest event with over 100 craft vendors, live music, food, kids’ crafts and plenty of apple butter, which is also sold there. It’s a nice excuse to visit and explore the village while you’re there.
- Oak Harbor Apple Festival (Review): All sorts of entertainment, vendors, food and apple products, not to mention rides and games.
- Fall Festival of Leaves in Bainbridge (Review): This festival takes place through the town, so you may have to walk around and explore a bit. All sorts of crafts, entertainment, rides, car shows, flea markets and more. There’s also a log sawing contest and guide for 4 self-guided Skyline Drives.
- Ohio Renaissance Festival in Waynesville (Review): This is the second to last week. If you haven’t gone this year, you’re running out of time to get a turkey leg.
And here are some other festivals, which I haven’t attended, but hope to attend one day:
- Fairborn Halloween Festival: The Halloween Festival takes place in downtown Fairborn with vendors and food. It’s hard to find info on entertainment but I’m hoping to stop by and let you know later.
- Kidron Beet Festival in Apple Creek: This smaller festival takes place at Sonnenberg Village, where there will be live music, food and beet ice cream.
- Camden Black Walnut Festival: Along with over 130 vendors and many food trucks, there’s a car show, a beer and wine garden, a kids’ area, live music and more.
And there are many more festivals worth noting, so be sure to take your time as you go through the listing below.
