Fairs kick off with a great selection of festivals!
What a continuous week of festivals!
Thanks to July 3rd and 4th landing on Monday and Tuesday, last weekend’s festivals never ended. Go one day later, on July 5th, and the following weekend’s festivals begin.
To add to the events, county fairs are also starting up this week, particularly in Marion, Lawrence, Clinton, Madison, Adams, Logan and Montgomery Counties. For most of these fairs, they’ll begin Saturday or Sunday of this weekend and stretch into the following weekend.
But let’s talk about this weekend’s festivals…
Some of this weekend’s festivals that I can personally recommend include…
…the Stark County Italian American Festival (Review) with all the delicious Italian food, great entertainment and rides
…the Olde Canal Days Festival (Review) in Canal Fulton – a picturesque town – with all sorts of entertainment, rides, vendors, food and more
…the Huron River Fest (Review) near the docks where the Beraldi fries (AKA old Cedar Point fries) are not to miss
…FarmFest (Review) in Kirtland, where there are all sorts of activities, entertainment and fun for the kids (just be sure to bring some treats with you in case the food lines are too long)
…the Asian Lantern Festival (Review) at the Cleveland Zoo, which has great entertainment, a market, a food court with Asian dishes and plenty of wonderful illuminated displays
…and the Great Lakes Medieval Faire and Marketplace (Review) in Rock Creek, which is the best thing to a Renaissance Faire that you can get in northern Ohio (entertainment, shows, food, costumes and everything you can expect).
The Medieval Faire will run on weekends through August 13th.
There are many other great festivals that I haven’t had the chance to visit: the Marietta Riverfront Roar, the Tree Town Festival in Forest, the Kickin’ Chicken Wing Fest in Kettering, the Summer Festival of the Arts in Youngstown, and the WonderStruck Music Festival in Kirtland.
This year, I’m actually hoping to make it to the Lebanese Food and Music Festival in Parma (it just sounds delicious). Expect a post afterwards if I do.
Be sure to look to the list this weekend because there may be festivals that interest you: Music Festival, Cultural Festivals, a Jeep Fest, a Bicycle Fest, Arts Festivals and so much more!
You’ll also want to look at the map because there may be all sorts of activities going on around you.
