Over 75 festivals with Scottish Games, the Arts, Strawberries, Trains, the Summer Solstice near the Serpent Mounds and a Tractor Square Dance worth seeing.
The festivals keep coming, Festival Fans.
Festivals are not slowing down anytime soon but that’s not a reason to take a break now. Each weekend, including this one, there are fantastic festivals going on that you should consider visiting.
Some of these festivals include…
The Ohio Scottish Games and Celtic Festival at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Berea. Not only are there games, but there is plenty of live entertainment, vendors galore (with haggis for those willing to try), animals, culture and more. You can check out my Experience from years ago, when it was going on at the Lorain County Fairgrounds.
Don’t worry – I’ll be returning this year and writing up an updated post.
Rail Festival (Review) in Dayton not only gets you up close with live steam engines, model train displays and possibly the Wright Brothers, there is also a very popular train ride loved by kids and adults alike.
The Maria Stein Country Fest (Review) offers plenty of attractions, from rides to live entertainment, plus a tiger show, a magic show, and their really popular Tractor Square Dance. Another interesting things is that they usually have turtle soup available (and it’s pretty good)!
Fayette County’s Toast to Summer (Review) takes place at the Fayette County Airport in Washington Court House where an assortment of Ohio Wineries will be present, not to mention artisan and craft vendors, a dozen food vendors, and planes.
Bi-plane rides are available and there is a drone light show as well as live music throughout the festival.
The Summer Solstice Celebration (Review) in Peebles is right next to the Serpent Mounds. You don’t park at the Serpent Mounds site. Instead, you park outside the grounds at the festival. Then you can shop the Native American, art and historical vendors, learn about everything from pawpaws to Bigfoot, enjoy some delicious frybread and simply walk over to the mounds and check them out yourself.
