This post documents my experience on August 1, 2015.
Festivals like the Wauseon Homecoming are great opportunities to explore a community…
…possibly giving you the chance to admire old store signs…
…find a magic shop…
…or be drawn (pun?) to stores you don’t see everyday…
…like the Lead Shed.
This street festival, over 80 years old, ran a few blocks down Fulton Street…
…over some railroad tracks…
…and was peppered with plenty of rides along its course.
The north end had some bounce houses…
…carriage rides…
…and a kids’ zone…
…while the south end had a main stage…
…where it featured its entertainment.
In-between, the festival offered…
…prize games…
…a beer garden (with corn hole)…
…a craft fair…
…a car show…
…a sidewalk sale…
…and various food vendors…

…which were actually spread thinly along the blocks.
I could hypothesize that planners tried to spread vendors out evenly along the few blocks or that some areas had better electrical connections than others.
Whatever the matter, it just seemed like a lot of empty space in areas…
…with certain vendors seemingly off on their lonesome.
But there were some booths, such as the wheel-spinning games…

…bingo games…
…and certain food vendors that were evenly spaced along Fulton Street with North and South locations.
These booths were all run by volunteers…
…and used as the fundraisers for this year’s town project – a city pool.
I hope they got it!
