If you’ve recently looked at the Ohio Festival Guide, you will notice that there are a LOT of festivals going on this month.
That’s why I’ve decided to give you a listing of the festivals I’ve personally visited and have really enjoyed.
At the end of the post, I’ll list some festivals that also look great which I haven’t had the chance to check out.

Festival of Sail – Sandusky

Notes: Ships to tour, music, grub and a giant rubber ducky.

The Doo Dah Parade – Columbus
Dates: 7/4

Notes: Bring your sense of humor to this zany parade (you can even be in it). A festival accompanies the event.

Asian Lantern Festival at the Cleveland Zoo – Cleveland
Dates: 7/6-7/10, 7/13-7/17, 7/20-7/24, 7/27-7/31 (and continues into August)

Notes: The perfect excuse to go to the zoo in the evening with beautiful light displays, Asian food, entertainment and more.

Olde Canal Days Festival – Canal Fulton

Notes: Along with the rides, food, entertainment and vendors, I just loved going through the town. A fun family festival.

Lilyfest – Rockbride

Notes: Art, Music and Food in the midst of the Bishop Educational Gardens. It’s like a secret festival and you’re invited.

FarmFest – Kirtland

Notes: This festival at the Lake Metroparks Farmpark has a bit of everything and is great for the family.

The Great Lakes Medieval Faire and Marketplace – Rock Creek
Dates: 7/9-7/10, 7/16-7/17, 7/23-7/24, 7/30-7/31 (Continues into August)

Notes: A really fun Medieval Festival worth checking out. You could easily spend the whole day here.

Summer Moon Festival – Wapakoneta
Dates: 7/12-7/17

Notes: Neil Armstrong’s hometown has events both downtown and at the Museum. Bed Races, River Paddle Battles, all sorts of entertainment, food and more.

St. Joseph’s Ox Roast Fair – Mantua

Notes: Booths and events are operated by volunteer staff and the roast ox is absolutely delicious. But there is plenty of other foods and a great deal of rides at this church festival.

Willoughby ArtsFest

Notes: A great arts festival in beautiful downtown Willoughby.

Headlands Beach Fest – Mentor

The Summer Market – Lorain

Notes: This market offers a great collection of vendors at a wonderful location (Black River Landings). It’s a perfect summer weekend event.

Wizardly World of Kent

Notes: Kent, Ohio is transformed into a wizardly world where fans of Harry Potter will feel at home.

Valley City Frog Jump Festival

Notes: Bring a frog or rent one at the grounds and participate in the jumping competition. Food, games and more are also available.

Canal Winchester Blues and Ribfest

Notes: A great excuse to visit the Canal Winchester while enjoying tasty ribs and great musical entertainment.

The Gathering of Garst – Greenville
