The Return of Covid’s first festival victim.
The Arnold Sports Festival is unlike any other festival in Ohio. Because of the time of year, it takes place indoors and has the feel of an expo with vendors giving away samples like it’s Halloween. But there are competitions galore, body painting, food, celebrities and so much more, bringing many people from all over the state and the country (read my review of this festival HERE).
In 2020, it became one of the first major festivals cancelled due to Covid, just shortly before the lockdown officially began, and many many more soon followed (many, many, MANY!). Festivals throughout 2020 and 2021 were cancelled, postponed or modified throughout the pandemic and it was sad to scan through the Ohio Festival Guide and see how strongly everything was affected.
Now, in 2022, I’m happy to report that the festival is back, happening this weekend. I write this with a renewed hope for festivals to come after. I feel we are in a new place with the pandemic and there’s a good chance 2022 could be a wonderful festival year!

Other than Arnold Sports Festival this weekend, you can attend various Beer and Wine festivals going on throughout the state. There’s also a Chocolate Fest going on in Cleveland and two Maple festivals.
Hopefully, you didn’t give any of that up for Lent.
