This post documents my experience on August 16, 2014.
After going to Chardon for only winter and early spring fests…
…it was nice to go there for a festival in full summer…
…especially since it celebrated zucchini.
The 3rd Annual Zucchini Festival, put on by the Emerald Rose Corporation, was moved here from Troy Township…
…to help raise funds for the construction of a therapeutic farming community.

The festival had plenty of vendors selling purses and gifts (Reba’s), hand-painted glassware (The Crafty Buzzard)…

…pottery (MM Pottery), Tupperware…
…and various household needs (Universal Windows/Gutter Helmet).
There were also a touring magician…
…games of skill…
…games of chance (aka raffles)…

…ceramic painting…

…zucchini decor…
…and Fun musical entertainment (Just for the Fun of It!).

Along with some non-zucchini food vendors…
…there was a main concession stand with zucchini pancakes (in the morning), burgers…

…and various zucchini baked goods to try.
At the main information tent…
…you could also purchase a zucchini/squash cookbook…
…and/or some homemade zucchini relish (with free samples).
For even more zucchini fare, some local businesses took part by offering “zucchini influenced” foods…
…but some business hours conflicted with festival times.
Fortunately, our lunch at Morgan’s Smokehouse came through with our favorite squash.
