Pierogi Fest – North Royalton, Ohio – My Experience

This post documents my experience on August 23, 2014.

The Pierogi Fest is a Ukrainian festival at Holy Trinity Church that’s split into two areas (indoor/outdoor).

The outdoor pavilion area was the more active area…

…offering kids’ such activities as wall climbing…

…horseback riding…

…and plenty of jumping.

There were also various snack foods and gifts available for purchase.

Meanwhile, closer to the pavilion…

…adult festival supported Ukrainian soldiers…

…through the purchase of T-shirts…

…and ate such things as shish kabobs, pulled pork sandwiches…

…and belyash, a fried meat pie (mine was greasy with little meat).

In the main hall, it was a lot easier to let the time pass by…

…thanks to some fantastic entertainment…

…raffles…

…shopping…

…a bar…

…and plenty of great food that included borscht, cabbage rolls…

…five…

…yes, five

… types of pierogi (potato, sauerkraut, sweet cheese, blueberry, cherry)…

…and various kinds of dessert.

It should also be noted that there was a touching memorial for those Ukrainians who recently lost their lives in protest…

…with the possibility of helping their families.
