This post documents my experience on August 7, 2025.

Tommy Boy Fest is a festival to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the film’s release.

By following indications in downtown Sandusky…

…festival goers could make their way to the Jackson Street Pier…

…and find themselves reminded of Tommy Boy moments through quote signs…

…photo-ops…

…(here’s the latter in use)…

…and the occasional merch.

Big Tom’s Market offered a selection of goods…

…including clothing…

…candles and fragrances (Bearded RN)…

…creative laser etched merchandise (Themed Geek)…

…baked treats (Elements Bakery)…

…with Tommy Boy quote names…

…and collection of artistic pieces (Tanya Szucs)…

…including a Tommy Boy portrait (Tanya Szucs)…

…Tommy Boy keychains and Tommy Boy magnets (Tanya Szucs).

Outside, people filled the lawn to check out the entertainment.

When I arrived, the Look-Alike Contest was taking place both for various characters from the movie…

…as well as Tommy Boy himself…

…one of which I got to meet in person.

There was also great live music…

…thanks to The Menus from Cincinnati.

As festival goers lined up for cold beer outside at the pier or from inside the market…

…others lined up for all sorts of pizzas (including Tommy Boy inspired), smash burgers…

…or even empanadas.

Some even went to a nearby restaurant, as most offered Tommy Boy specials.

I decided to go to The Gaucho and the Gringa for some choripapas – hand cut fries with crumbled up bratwurst, raw onion, nacho cheese and garlic chimichurri…

…and, even now, I’m surprised I ate the whole thing.
