This post documents my experience on August 5, 2016, when the festival was called Our Lady Queen of Peace Home Days Festival. Rides were removed in 2018.

We arrived at Our Lady Queen of Peace on Friday evening for their Home Days Festival…
…just as vintage cars were finding a spot in the car show…
…toddlers were bumping each other in the paddle boats…
…and here, in the entertainment tent…
…there was some serious rockin’ going on.
The festival had a small vendor area…
…offering specialty candles and local football team tees…
…a larger food area…
…with food ranging from tacos to chicken paprikash…
…a beer garden to escape to…
…games for the kids…
…plenty of rides (especially for younger kids)…
…a people mover to take you back to your car…
…and tons of adult gambling in the forms of raffles…
…casino games…
…instants…
…and Bingo.
Here, it was easy to be led astray…
…to a rather decadent bake sale…
…especially after a meal of kielbasa with cabbage and noodles.
