This post documents my experience on September 22, 2013.
I finished my huge festival weekend in the town of Centerburg…
…carefully parking in the saturated parking lot…
…walking toward the street…
…and finding a tiny bridge…
…that led me here…
…to the Oldtime Farming Festival.
As I entered the grounds…
…vendors sold mums…
…fudge…
…bird houses…
…dog breed shirts…
…and tons of various crafts…
…while nearby displays showcased impressive crops…
…Native American regional history…
…area history…
…and a history of local farms…

…neatly broken up by family.
I headed around the back to find a child’s wonderland…
…by means of balloon animals….
…playgrounds…
…kids’ games…
…tractor pulling…

…critters to pet…
…critters to ride…
…critters to watch perform obstacles…
…and critters to win in a raffle.
Adults, meanwhile, when not in the Euchre tournament…

…were way in the back with the farming equipment…
…getting close-up looks…

…watching demonstrations from a safe distance…
…taking in the sounds and motions…

…and just enjoying the vast collection of machinery.
It was quite a collection of things to see and do and I was a little relieved by the time I found myself here…
…in a large eating area…
…where local organizations sold pork chop dinners (Exchange Club)…
…chicken barbeque (United Methodist)…
…and plenty of pie (Church of Christ).
I ended up with a piece of raisin pie…
…while listening to the McManaway Family Quartet.
And if I had stayed a little longer…

…I could have been entertained by the King himself (EAB Entertainment).
