St. Stanislaus Polish Festival – Cleveland, Ohio – My Experience

This post documents my experience on October 4, 2013.

On the property of Slavic Village’s impressive St. Stanislaus…

…people were heading to the social center…

…for the annual Polish Festival.

Divided among two floors…

…the festival offered Polish food products…

…Polish knick knacks…

…some colorful jewelry and dresses…

…and gambling via 50/50’s…

…basket games…

…and raffles galore!

Although the upstairs was equipped with an entertainment stage, some tables…

…and a window bar in the hallway…

…I came at a time when most patrons were downstairs…

…frequenting the Warsaw Inn bar…

…with its cultural entertainment…

…crowding around the baked goods section…

…to stock up on homemade desserts and bread…

…and getting in one of two lines in the back…

…for dishes that included 5 varieties of delicious pierogi, potato pancakes and stuffed cabbage.

They even had duck blood soup (but only for carryout)!

And speaking of rather exotic dishes…

…I found myself upstairs at this booth…

…where you could sample their pickles and pork lard spread on bread, which were both available for purchase.

And although it may sound disgusting to some…

…I thought this was worth the trip alone!
