Welcome back, festival fans.
I feel there’s a little bit for everyone this weekend. Here’s what’s going on…
For those who love history, there’s the Ohio Civil War and Artillery Show going on in Mansfield with all sorts of presentations, demonstrations and artifacts.
If you enjoy a little fantasy to that history, you should enjoy the Village Viking Fest at the Great Geauga County Fairgrounds in Burton.
Perhaps you’re more into books. In that case, there’s Claire’s Day in Toledo, perfect for children, as well as the Ohioana Book Festival in Columbus, which focuses on Ohio’s authors.
For those who want to party it up Cinco de Mayo style, there’s the Margarita Showdown in Chagrin Falls, Cincy Cinco in Cincinnati and the Cinco de Mayo Festival and Taco Wars in Mount Vernon.
Plus, there’s also a bunch of vendor markets and market festivals, a Tattoo Festival, a Bird Fair, a handful of Art Festivals, a Wild Turkey Festival (Review)…
…and a sweet festival dedicated to Dandelions (Review)…
…where dandelion offerings include Sangria, Pierogi and Pizza.
There are usually cooking demonstrations, a vendor market with dandelion products and more.
ALSO, while it’s not listed on the guide since it’s not a festival, if you’re in Lorain, Erie or Ashland counties, you should check out…
…the Big Parade in Oberlin.
It’s a quirky, fun, community festival that takes place in downtown Oberlin on Saturday May 3 at 12 noon.
