This post documents my experience on May 2, 2015.

Author’s Note:  I first came to the Dandelion May Festival in 2010, which you can read about HERE.

It had been five years since I first went to Breitenbach Winery’s Dandelion May Festival

…enough time for them to develop an area down the road…

…build an entirely new complex…

…and relocate the festival completely.

There was an attractive Tool Shed…

…that housed an art show…

…dandelion cooking demonstrations…

…(with free samples!)…

…and the opportunity to purchase dandelion jelly and cookbooks.

Outside, two tents hosted vendors…

…offering everything from gems, fossils and minerals (Rockstar Rock Shop)…

…to herbal creams, soaps and ointments (Ohio Valley Herbal Products).

And there were dandelion jellies (Apple Leaf Jellies)…

…some dandelion wine…

…and even floral wine glasses to drink it with (Christinella’s Creations).

Elsewhere on the grounds, children were entertained with face painting…

…and dandelion picking competitions…

…while adults got themselves a nice glass of dandelion sangria…

…and enjoyed it with some musical entertainment.

But the real thrust of the festival was the (dandelion) food…

…and festival goers were able to find dandelion sausage…

…dandelion pizza (Bahler Street Pizza)…

…dandelion and potato pierogi (with dandelion toppers) (The Pierogi Lady)…

…dandelion ice cream (Schloneger’s)…

…and dandelion (jelly) fry pies.

Unfortunately, the one thing I searched for and couldn’t find was the dandelion gravy…

…but I was pretty satisfied with this dandelion artichoke grilled chicken wrap (Hunger Squad)…

…and a special performance of the “Dandelion Song” by the fantastic Gary Lee.
