This post documents my experience on September 21, 2013.
When I initially arrived at the Grand Lake St. Marys address found on the park’s website, I found nothing but some boats.
I was convinced that the fall festival was taking place at some other part of the lake and considered my trip a loss.
But then, as I started to head to the next festival…
…I was given a sign…
…and pulled into the campground for the Grand Lake St. Marys Fall Fest!
At first, I thought it would be a small fest…
…because I only saw the car show…
…a tented stage…
…a concessions stand…
…a beer area…
…a few vendors…
…and puppies (Animal Resource Foundation).
But then I noticed a walking path where booths were placed in front of trailers…
…where they sold fudge…
…crafts…
…and even some confederate flag dream catchers sold with pork rinds.
And still the path circled round…
…and I realized the festival wasn’t that small.
There were mums…
…purses…
…homemade hats for the New Knoxville Library…
…shovel/rake birdhouses…
…and artwork made by people with disabilities (AWS).
A not-so-shabby shopping festival selection!
Along with all the shopping…

…kids could take advantage of balloon animals, face-painting…
…and a scheduled puppet show advertised on the road.
Fortunately, there was also a playground nearby to burn off some calories…
…with all the decadent festival selections…
…including the donut sandwiches at Fat Mike’s!
