This post documents my experience on September 21, 2013.
After almost missing the last festival in St. Marys…
…I happily parked along the cornfields near North Lewisburg…
…and got ready to enjoy the Union County Covered Bridge Bluegrass Festival.
But only a minute or two after I arrived onto the festival grounds…
…I noticed that the stopped music didn’t start up again…
…that the mums were freshly loaded in the truck…
…and that the vendors were packing to go.
Yes, dear friends, as it turned out, I mistakenly arrived only a minute or two before the festival ended at 5 pm. (sorry)…

…as remaining festival goers got the last bits of grub…

…and browsed through the last crafts, pet items…
…brooms…
…garments…
…scarecrows…
…and local apples.
Everywhere I looked…
…things were closing shop around me…
…including the tour booth…
…of the Pottersburg Bridge.
It was a beautiful bridge…
…perfect for the following day’s worship service…
…and, although I didn’t get to see all the vendors surrounding it…
…or document the activities that occurred at the festival…
…I’m glad I still stopped by…
…although I promise to get there earlier next time.
