This post documents my experience on September 4, 2016.

The Firelands Labor Day Festival (108th this year) is a festival to explore.

Beyond the carnival midway…

…with its various rides…

…and games…

…there’s a back seemingly private wooden area where you can get a steak dinner…

…or hang out in the beer tent.

An unmarked building with no signs leading you there…

…will bring you to some vendors…

…and the local historical society.

Some things were rather easy to find by walking around, like the Critter Farm with pony rides…

…the face painting…

…Bingo…

…the gambling wheel game…

…and the many food vendors…

…served by local groups…

…and businesses.

But I did blindly follow some other festival goers down a field…

…beyond the balloon ride (setting up)…

…and to the arena…

…where the demolition derby was taking place…
…and things were really heating up…
…until someone put baby in a corner in the end.
