Easter Weekend and the return of Dyngus Day.
This weekend, with the beginning of Passover and the arrival of Easter (Orthodox Easter will be in May), there aren’t many festivals and shows going on in Ohio. I have noticed many Church and Community Easter events, but nothing I would consider a festival (fortunately, the festival number nearly triples and then really explodes once we get into May).
Still, there are some festivals this weekend worth mentioning, such as the Columbus Winter Beerfest, the Hilliard Kidsfest and TWO Dyngus Day festivals in Cleveland and Youngstown. The Cleveland version is the bigger of the two, returning in person as a ticketed event at Gordon Green on Detroit Ave after being virtual the past years. The Youngstown version will place at The Casual Pint. It appears to be a smaller event, but would be worth checking out.
I hope you all have a wonder weekend and don’t get any toothaches from the sweets. I, myself, need to make a lamb cake for this Easter, as well as some deviled eggs.
