Chase the Winter away this weekend – Slovenian Style.
This weekend, you can either embrace the winter or chase it away, depending on how the season has been treating you thus far.
If you aren’t in any rush for Spring, you can head to Medina for the city’s Ice Festival and enjoy the various sculptures created along the square while checking out the local businesses.
But if you are sick and tired of the colder temps, you can make your way to Cleveland’s Slovenian National Home for the Kurentovanje Winter Festival. Get there early enough for the parade and witness the woolly Kurents use their clubs and bells to chase the winter away. Then stick around for ethnic foods, drink, music, vendors and more.
Also this weekend, there’s a Beatles Festival in Kent and different shows (vendor, garden, car, reptile) around the state.

So I’ve pretty much updated what I could on the Ohio Festival Guide. I haven’t finished the Fair and Show Guide, but I will by the end of this week.
This means that, if you still see an asterisk next to a festival date, I was not able to find the 2023 info. Sometimes this is a timing issue (ie I check a festival website and it ends up getting updated shortly after). But I’ll be checking tentative dates again in a month or so – or you can let me know any 2023 dates that you see marked as tentative.
