Festa Italiana – Wooster, Ohio – My Experience

This post documents my experience on August 11, 2018.

When I arrived in downtown Wooster…

…a Catholic Mass on the main stage began the events…

…at the annual Festa Italiana.

I used this time to check out the Heritage History…

…reading about local Italian families…

…and learning of Wooster’s Italian roots.

There were many pieces of local history here…

…some cash raffles…

…and the beer.

The tent on the opposite side of the stage…

…was where you could find the festival T-shirts…

…and food competitions, such as the Best Italian Sauce…

…and the Best Italian Meatballs (I love these trophies!).

But if you were looking to eat Italian food, it wasn’t far away…

…with plenty of food booths selling Italian sausage…

…meatball sandwiches (and pizzelles) (Lamplighter’s Social Club)…

…pizza galore (10 Alarm Fire Engine/Coccia)…

…and many other Italian dishes (Fiore’s).

Brunswick’s Rito’s even came down…

…to share some decadent desserts.

Gift vendors, meanwhile, seemed few with dog treats and accessories.

And while kids would have to wait a few hours for the children’s area and inflatables…

…they would be able to pass the time with a warm, sugary Lerch’s donut.
