AUTHOR’S NOTE: I first visited the Avon Heritage Duck Tape Festival (called the Avon Heritage DUCT Tape Festival) in 2010. You can read that review here – https://ohiofestivals.net/13-avon-heritage-duct-tape-festival-june-18-2010/
This post documents my experience on June 18, 2016.

After a number of years, I drove back to Avon with my festival buddy…
…to revisit the Avon Heritage Duck Tape Festival.

It definitely seemed bigger than I remembered with plenty of vendors…
…offering canopy tours (Common Ground)…
…free local highway maps from the county engineer…
…some psychic consultation…
…chiropractic care from Dr. Natalie (HealthSource of Avon)…
…laser cut wooden decor…

…and plenty of duct tape pictures, earrings, wallets, ties and more.
Mixed among the booths, there was also a nice selection of food vendors…

…with grub that was either grilled or fried (we leaned toward the fried)…
…and a rather big beer tent for eating in the shade.
But we were mostly there for all the rides…
…games…
…caricatures, face painting…
…stage entertainment…
…which included a fashion show…
…and to check out all the fantastic costumes…
…parade floats…
…and sculptures all made out of duct tape.
After seeing a few of the duct tape sculptures found all around the festival grounds…
…we were so inspired that we tried our hand at it in the activity tent…
…and created this blooming rose.
And even though we knew it was nothing like the kissing couple…
…the American eagle…
…the Empire State Building…
…gas station…
…space shuttle…
…or hippy bus duct tape masterpieces…
…we still went to the neighboring store tent, put our name on the giant pin…

…and searched among the large selection of duct tape designs for our next creation.
I have a feeling that it’s going to be a fish.
