This post documents my experience on September 12, 2015.

Belmonte Park North and area streets were confused, congested and cluttered for a reason…

…because people were hurrying to climb up to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church

…for the Dayton Greek Festival.

Some festival goers headed inside first…

…where photos of children in native dress lined the walls…

…a Greek Boutique offered items such as…

…religious items, jewelry…

…and Greek festival apparel…

…and a back room served lamb shank dinners, drinks…

…coffee…

…and pastries…

…which guests could examine up-close before getting in line (where’s the galaktoboureko?)

There was even a cooking demonstration area here…

…as well as a relaxing courtyard to enjoy your food.

Outside, the main tent…

…offered two lines of food…

…with photos and descriptions at the very start…

…and it all looked delicious.

Other booths offered beverages…

…pizza…

…Greek style desserts…

…and Skyline coneys for something different.

I even came across some watermelon dressed with feta.

When not eating, there was entertainment…

…play…

…and even job possibilities (Dayton Police Department).

There was even a raffle if you felt lucky.
