Creston Homecoming – Creston, Ohio – My Experience

AUTHOR’S NOTE: In 2021, the Creston Homecoming became the Creston Ox Roast.

This post documents my experience on August 10, 2018.

I came to Creston’s Brooklyn Park…

…to check out a community celebration called the Creston Homecoming.

Along the festival midway…

…kids’ games lined both sides…

…allowing young festival goers to try and win tickets…

…that could be brought to this gazebo for all sorts of prizes.

Children could also jump and climb on the various inflatables…

…race while inside a giant plastic ball…

…or get their face painted.

Adults, meanwhile, had games of their own…

…which either involved a bit of gambling…

…or a bit of skill.

The musical entertainment was obviously for everyone to enjoy!

And as I walked by kids playing corn hole…

…and talked with the Canaan Township Fire Department …

…who gave out fire safety brochures, stickers and alarms…

…I noticed the line at the food hall during the Friday fish fry.

While there was a nice crowd enjoying their fried cod sandwiches and dinners…

…I realized that Saturday’s ox roast would really bring in the crowds.
