The Shreve Swamp Fest is a community festival named after the nearby Killbuck Marsh area, known as “Shreve Swamp.” The festival has local food trucks, vendors, games and activities (ie climbing wall), a car show and live entertainment.

This post documents my experience on July 14, 2018.

I headed to downtown Shreve…
…for their newly named Swamp Fest (referencing the nearby Killbuck Marsh area known as “Shreve Swamp”).
Along with a rather welcoming taxidermized bear…
…and some of his pals who likely came from the marsh, or “swamp,” area (Ohio Division of Wildlife)…
…the festival offered prize games…
…a bit of friendly gambling (Shreve Volunteer Fire Dept)…
…and an entire area of kids’ activities…
…that included inflatables…
…bull riding…
…wall climbing…
…jumping and more games.
Other attractions for all ages included an entertainment area…
…where a stage was set for musical performances…
…a car show that was just getting starting when I arrived…
…and an official NASCAR set up for pit stop demonstrations and 2-man team tire change competitions…
…thanks to the Xcalibur Pit School, who also sold apparel.
Food options included pulled pork and beef brisket…

…everything from walking tacos to philly cheesesteaks at Eat at Joe’s Concession booths…

…and desserts that included candy apples and donuts.
And while curiosity drew me in to the booth with the Big Foot…
…I ended up with the Bog Burger instead of the one named after him…
…and it was pretty satisfying.
