I visited this festival first in 2011. You can read that experience at https://ohiofestivals.net/49-sunbury-sizzle-and-sounds-august-27-2011/
This post documents my experience on August 21, 2021.

It had been 10 years since I’d last rode into Sunbury…
…for their annual Sizzle and Sounds festival…
…and, as I happily made my way to the square to see how things had developed…
…I was pulled in by the sweet sounds of Bova.
Many had brought their own lawn chairs to enjoy the performance…
…while others still took advantage of a huge beer garden that led right to the stage.
Equipped with some nice adult beverage selections…
…the beer garden had a casual attendance in the early afternoon…
…but it would be jam packed by evening.
Elsewhere on the square, near the carving of Johnny Appleseed…
…there was a nice vendor area…
…where festival goers could shop among African clothing and accessories (Coffico)…
…colorful ice dyed shirts and apparel (Ohio Drip)…
…interesting Ohio wall decor…

…a huge assortment of Tupperware and Mia Bella candles…
…and books from local author Chris Underwood…
…who also made these rocking tea kettle wind chimes.
As I continued to explore, I came across a farmer’s market…

…which had some cool gourds and goats milk products (The Laughing Gourd/Q & R Farm)…
…a station for kids to practice their fire-fighting skills…
…and a huge kids’ area…

…where they could circle at various speeds…

…jump at various heights…
…and even take on a mechanical bull…
…all for free.
Yes, apart from the Dunking Booth (where money went to a good cause)…
…everything in this area was offered at no charge to guests…
…and this also included the face painting (Boggs Face Painting)…
…and the prize games!
Lastly, I arrived at the food alley area…
…where options included Mexican street food (tortilla)…
…Greek food (Greek Village on the Go)…
…brats, hot dogs, fried bologna, burgers (Dan’s Deli)…
…freshly popped Kettle Corn (Pap’s)…

…and some refreshing smoothies and lemonade to wash it all down (Sunny Sips/Giant Lemonade Cup).
I couldn’t resist the menu from 3 Flame BBQ…
…where I got myself this delicious smoked lobster roll…
…washing it down with a cold lemonade…
…and enjoying another cover by Bova.
