This post documents my experience on August 11, 2018.

When I entered the grounds of the Shaker Woods Festival…

…I was a little overwhelmed…

…but with a map in my hand…

…and an eye out for location markers…

…I set out to explore the 200+ vendors that made this event a shopper’s paradise.

As you could guess with so many vendors, there was a little bit of everything…

…from fun hillbilly toys to elegant jewelry…

…and everything in-between, including bird houses and baths…

…industrial and rustic furniture (Rustic 330)…

…braided rugs (Luv Those Rugs)…

…dried and silk flowers…

…wine and whiskey rocks (with taps)…

…inspirational photographs (Subtle Verse)…

…one-of-a-kind wall decor (Rare Rustics)…

…brooms, walking sticks…

…sports banners…

…and handmade soap (Soap by the Slice).

But there were also old-fashioned dolls…

…primitive dolls (Country at Heart)…

…scarecrows…

…snowmen…

…pumpkins galore…

…and crafts of all kinds…

…for lovers of Halloween and Christmas alike.

As I walked along the pathways…

…I enjoyed the attention paid to both the garden areas…

…and the trees within the woods.

And while I had arrived too late to take advantage of the performances at the stage locations…

…I did get to enjoy the music of strolling musicians…

…found along the festival grounds.

But with all that shopping, walking and music-listening, I couldn’t help but feel hungry…

…and it was difficult to choose between pizza, chicken pot pie…

…steak sandwiches…

…pasta…

…and the many other options available…

…especially when all the Fabulous Homemade Cookies…

…apple cider donuts (Weingartner’s)…

…and old fashioned fruit cobblers were really what I wanted.
