This post documents my experience on September 7, 2013.
It was a busy weekend in Lorain with a popular Greek festival, an Italian festival…
…and an Oktoberfest all going on at the same time.
The first two fests were pretty close to each other, while the Oktoberfest was nearly ten minutes away and with a $3 admission (the other two fests were free)…
…so it wasn’t crowded while I was there.
Whereas I’ve heard that the Oktoberfest will move to a different weekend to help remedy this problem, there were some other choices to consider…
…like getting more German food.
Granted there were pretzels…
…great looking mini streussel (Simple Goodness)…
…and even German beer…
…but one German food vendor didn’t seem enough…
…especially when other vendors were Italian…
…Greek and Polish.
It was like a mini-International.
And while the festival sold cute beer earrings made by Nielsen Jewelers…
…the other vendors sold more standard festival fare…
…including craft items…
…sauces/spices (Tastefully Simple)…
…and clothing.
But, still, there was one saving grace where you could take a sip of beer, close your eyes and think you were in Deutschland…
…by means of the music (Hank Haller)…
…even if it was sung in English.
