50+ Festivals: Strawberries, Pride, Home Tours, Church Fests and more!
Welcome back, Festival Fans.
We are now entering the month of June, which means Strawberry Festivals, Pride Festivals, Juneteenth Festivals (mid-month) and a huge increase in Church Festivals.
Right off the bat, we are getting a weekend with most of those, as there are…
- 3 Strawberry Festivals (Troy, Newark, Parma Heights)
- 5 Pride Festivals (Dayton, Bellefontaine, Hamilton, Cleveland and Findlay)
- 6 Church Festivals
- Plus there are…
- Art Festivals
- Music Festivals
- Beer Festivals
- Cultural Festivals (Romanian, Croatian, Italian,
- a Porchfest
- A Ribfest
- and more.
There are over 50 Festivals this weekend!
Concerning my personal recommendations, I really liked the Troy Strawberry Festival (Review) because there are plenty of strawberry foods that you can purchase and try as opposed to only one dish (usually strawberry shortcake) that everyone gets. They are known for their strawberry donuts, which are pretty tasty in a Frankenberry cereal sort of way, but you can always get those to go while you eat everything else at the festival.
This festival can get really crowded, so get there early.
Another interesting festival worth checking out is the Historic Old West End Festival (Review) in Toledo where you head to the largest historic district in the country and get the chance to tour some of the historic homes (with ticket that you can purchase) while also shopping at the Art Fair or enjoying the food vendors and live music.
Be sure to do a little research on this for parking, shuttle stops, schedules and all that.
Festivals I would consider would be…
- CincItalia in Cinncinnati (love an Italian sagra)
- Pride in the CLE in Cleveland
- East 200th Street Stroll in Euclid (just curious about this one – it may actually take place on E 185)
- Columbus Chicken and Beer Festival (the name alone sounds inviting)
- Youngstown Croatian Festival in Vienna (I don’t think I’ve been to a Croatian Festival)
