Ribs, Walleye, Ice Cream and Moonshine Festivals along with Cultural Festivals, Motorcycles and more this Memorial Day Festival Weekend.
Welcome back, Festival Fans.
Can you believe it’s already Memorial Day Weekend (it is an earlier one)?
Hopefully, along with your parties, yardwork or kids’ athletic games, you’ll have some time for a festival or two.
This is particularly true this weekend because many of Ohio’s favorite Memorial Day Weekend Festivals have come back with plenty of great entertainment, vendors, activities and delicious food, including…
- Berea’s National Rib Cook-off (Review) at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds with 10 great ribbers to serve you up tons of BBQ and remind you what summer tastes like
- Utica Old Fashioned Ice Cream Festival (Review) where you can eat your way in Velvet Ice Cream via banana splits, root beer floats and scoops galore in a cup or a cone (burn off the calories by shopping and dancing along with the music).
- Port Clinton Walleye Festival (Review) with rides, vendors, all sorts of fair food and, of course, Lake Erie perch and walleye.
- Moonshine Festival (Review) where New Straitsville made a name for itself after setting fire to the mine, now celebrating with rides, entertainment, an educational moonshine display and more.
- Feast of the Flowering Moon (Review) in Chillicothe, offering Native American Pow Wow dances, vendors and food.
- Tremont Greek Festival (Review) in Cleveland (you can see the festival from I-90) with some of the best Greek food around.
- Columbus Asian Festival (Review) with a vendor market, art exhibitions, health screenings, cultural/art performances and a nice variety of Asian food.
- Taste of Cincinnati (Review) right in downtown with plenty of food trucks and participating restaurants with great entertainment to enjoy while you chow down.
- Oak Hill Festival of Flags offers a little bit of everything – bingo, dog show, motorcycle and car shows, fishing contest, baby contest, kids drag racing, music entertainment, rides, food and more!
But this is only a taste of what’s going on this weekend!
There is the Blossom Time Festival in Chagrin Falls, the Norwalk Jaycees Strawberry Festival, and I just learned about the Hall of Fame Ribs Burnoff at the Football Hall of Fame in Canton.
