Burning Snowmen during the Brite Winter: Some great winter festivals this weekend!
Hello, Festival Fans.
Just last weekend, after recovering from the shock of USA Today mentioning my Eclipse Festival Guide in their article (found here), I was thinking to myself:
February is almost over. When is the Brite Winter Festival this year?
Well, I’m happy to say, that I now realize that it is this weekend…
…the same weekend as the Burning Snowman Festival in Port Clinton.
Both festivals are fun with different approaches to winter.
While Brite Winter (Review) tries to embrace the winter and use it as a landscape for games, arts and music, the focus of the Burning Snowman (Review) is to drive the winter away – not unlike the Cleveland Kurentovanje Festival – by means of a huge snowman effigy.
I should also say that Brite Winter is very family friendly while the Burning Snowman is an adults-only event (they hold The Family Freeze the day before for the young-ins).
Also this weekend, you have a BeatleFest in Kent, some Beer Festivals in Hamilton and Lancaster and a variety of Shows for those interested in Homes and Gardens, Cars, Shopping, Psychics and Weddings.
There will be plenty more festivals next weekend!
