This post documents my experience on August 24, 2013.
In downtown Medina…
…the world was coming together in the square…
…in the form of an International Fest…
…and the square’s sidewalks swelled with people.
Families occasionally wandered off to hear Native American folklore…

…kids took advantage of inflatables and face painting…
…foodies shopped at farmer’s market booths…

…and shoppers browsed through accessories, plants…
…and even armor (Northcoast Armor & Jewelry).
Honestly, with all the gift vendors, farmer’s market booths…
…and live chickens about…
…I was starting to lose sight of the festival theme.

But then I noticed pierogies, pasta…
…kolackys…
…and Hungarian pastries.
I continued to maneuver my way through the many paths…
…to not only find a Chinese booth for language assistance and chopstick challenges…
…but also international vendors with African art…
…Polish pottery…

…and a ton of Peruvian booths scattered about with pan flutes and animal hats.
Eventually, I allowed the music to pull me from the crowds (Moises Borges Brazilian Jazz Trio)…
…to food from countries that included Lebanon (Marie’s Cafe)…
…France (Thyme 2)…
…Greece (Mad Mouth Gyro)…
… and India (Bombay Grill).
Between the music, the food and the open space…
…I made a sigh of relief before making my way to Bruno’s…
…and getting some eggplant lasagna that was out of this world!
Pun intended.
