This post documents my experience on May 17, 2014.
I headed to Grand Rapids for what was called the Lost Arts Festival…
…although the online flyer referred to it as a “rendezvous.”
I bring this up because, in the end, the food, refreshments and some other necessary festival elements mentioned in the flyer weren’t there to be seen during my visit (fortunately, I didn’t have to pay the $5 admission mentioned at the website).

To the event’s credit, they did have a cool target practice set-up…
…the potential for a nice fire…
…demonstrations…
…displays…
…buildings to explore…

…period people to talk to…
…beautiful grounds to explore…
…and a horse.
But after having walked the long road to the grounds and exploring them…
…I realized that this event was, indeed, a “rendezvous” of living history campers…
…and not a festival.
At least, not yet.
