This post documents my experience on September 6, 2026.
As arriving guests admired the car show near the parking area…
…I made my way to the gate, paid my admission…
…and walked onto the grounds of the Liberty Home Association’s Oktoberfest.
Many festival lovers segued from the admission line to the beer ticket line…
…cashing in those tickets only a few feet away…
…or making their way to the wine tent where they could also score a limburger and onion sandwich.
Near that tent was another…
…offering attire for those who wanted to look more festive…
…a nice raffle area…
…and adult games set up for later that evening.
Fortunately, the ring toss was already operating for visitors of all ages…
…and kids were already taking advantage of the inflatables…
…and booths selling children’s hats, swords, squishies and toys.
As I listened to the polka playing from under the pavilion…
…my growling stomach pulled me to the food line…
…where I found offerings of goetta, sauerkraut balls and more.
I enjoyed a delicious schnitzel sandwich with a side of German potato salad…
…and went inside to the consider a baked treat…
…as they were selling warm pretzels…
…and a variety of desserts…
…including strudels, black forest cake, cheesecake…
…and some delicious looking cream puffs.
