Larchmere Festival – Cleveland, Ohio – My Experience

AUTHOR’S NOTE: In 2021, it was renamed the Larchmere Positivity Fest

This post documents my experience on July 5, 2014.

****

Along Cleveland’s Larchmere Boulevard…

…as music sounded from this porch…

…vendors set up shop in front of businesses…

…corporate housing (Larchmere House)…

…and just about anywhere they could…

…making some passageways (with a stroller) rather difficult.

Welcome to the Larchmere Festival

…a community festival where you could find African art…

…oriental rugs…

…purses…

…concrete critters…

…and, really, just about anything along sidewalks…

…designated lots…

…or any of the eclectic businesses (Eclectic Eccentric).

But there was more than just sidewalk shopping…

…there were exercising demos…

…hula hooping…

…music galore…

…(although much of it came via loudspeakers)…

…a battle against the Chess Master…

…jump houses for the kids…

…and even an Author’s Alley at Loganberry Books

…where you could talk to such Ohio authors as James A. Willis of Weird Ohio

…and the talented and charismatic Michael Garriga of The Book of Duels.

After our book purchases, we used the sidewalk sign to check out our food options…

…and then we browsed menus at both food trucks…

…and neighborhood restaurants…

…before deciding to dine at Jezebels Bayou.

On this cool summer day, I was happy with a tasty shrimp po’ boy…

…while Max was all about the ribs they were cooking out front.
