Lagrange Lions Festival – Lagrange, Ohio – My Experience

This post documents my experience on July 22, 2016.

I made it to the Lagrange Lions Festival just before the sun set.

The mechanical bull was taking a short break…

…kids were knocking each other over during a match of Bubble Soccer

…and the adults were filling up the beer gazebo.

Before I lost anymore light, I started down the main pathway…

…and found vendors who sold clothing and photo key chains…

…advertised home-related services…

…represented local organizations (Friends of the Keystone-Lagrange Library)…

…and brought awareness to their local clubs (Lorain County Snow Riders).

Various food trucks were mixed among the booths…

…along with a face painting booth…

…an entertainment stage (Heartland)…

…a field of inflatables…

…and the occasional game.

Gambling was big at the Lions Fest, as raffles offered huge portions of pork and beef…

…a wheelbarrow of spirits…

…and gift baskets galore.

There was a Closest to the Pin golfing competition…

…where festival goers had to step a bit from the crowds…

…before testing their skills.

And then there was this gazebo, where…

…along with a food window offering sloppy joes and pizza…

…festival risk takers could bet their quarters either against a spinning wheel…

…or a rolling ball.

I tried against the latter and made out right away…

…losing it all back within a few more tries.
