Kansas Firemen’s Festival – Kansas, Ohio – My Experience

This post documents my experience on July 19, 2013.

I actually fell upon the Kansas Firemen’s Festival by accident, noticing signs in nearby Bettsville en route to Fostoria and realizing that the festival was going on that very moment…

…so I followed the signs to Kansas…

…and easily located the festival.

As some festival goers played some Bingo out front…

…I went to the side of the fire station to check out their new tanker…

…and the various festival attractions…

…which included games and inflatables for the kids…

…a dunk tank for future pitchers…

…and plenty of window banners, decorative license plates and flags.

A tent was set up behind the fire station…

…with a stage for musical entertainment…

… and beer nearby for thirsty groupies.

And while there was a hamburger stand outside the fire station…

…the majority of food was found inside…

…and it was here where I grabbed a brat with kraut…

…and a piece of homemade chocolate peanut butter cake…

…for my dinner.

And as I ate, festival goers were encouraged to walk about the station and bid on items in the silent auction…

…just as long as they left the firefighters’ stuff alone.
