The HotLick Bluesfest is a blues music festival in downtown Granville, Along with the food and merchandise of local businesses, there are food trucks and a beer garden.

This post documents my experience on September 3, 2016.
In downtown Granville, locals were spread out along the street in folding chairs…
…on restaurant balconies…
…or at tables in the Beer Garden…
…and they were all facing the stage…
…and enjoying the HotLicks Bluesfest.
Downtown restaurants were only a stone’s throw away from the stage (Broadway Pub/Moe’s)…
…while food trucks gave additional options (Mai Chau/SteamRoller).
Just outside the festival area, a sign led people away…
…to a house where also I heard the tacos were delicious (Taco Dans).
Apart from the food, the only other booths present were the Columbus Blues Alliance…
…and a merchandise (T-shirt) booth.
And while the lack of non-food vendors didn’t bother me that much, I was a little surprised by the “quietness” of the festival…
…so much so that I even walked around to try and find the famous Buxton Inn.
But when I was talking to a police officer about the festival, she informed me that the OSU game was playing a factor in the attendance.
“When the game is over,” she said, “this is going to get a lot busier. They are expecting 3500 here tonight.”
And I believed her…
…especially after feeling the energy of the music.
