This post documents my experience on September 3, 2016.
I headed to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral around lunch time…
…in order to take full advantage of their Greek Festival…
…and I was immediately given plenty of options in the outdoor area…
…with such dishes as saganaki (flambéed cheese), fried calamari…
…gyros…
…roasted lamb…
…and fish and chips.
But after the helpful advice of some photogenic volunteers…
…I decided to get lunch inside…
…where more food was served in the gym…
…and enjoy some delicious moussaka and spanakopita.
Afterward, I explored the halls as each room was used either as a store…
…an art gallery…
…a market…
…a child’s activity area…
…a cooking demonstration classroom…
…or a cultural center…
…with a museum found down the hall.

A larger room with various merchants…
…also sold the pastries…
…and I bought a piece of galaktoboureko (with some extra custard thrown on top).
I tried to burn those extra calories by visiting the cathedral (tours are given)…
…exploring the outdoor coffee area…

…(where there are more pastries and a small stage)…
…and checking out the entertainment (Greek dancing) at the outdoor main stage.
And while Mike Pence delayed the entertainment a bit with some handshakes and photo-ops…
…the entertainment was definitely worth the wait.
