East Bank Bacon Festival – Cleveland, Ohio – My Experience

This post documents my experience on October 6, 2018.

Down along the East Bank of the Flats

…the Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland partnered up with the Flats East Bank…

…to fry up the second annual East Bank Bacon Festival.

Located in a scenic pedestrian area…

…lined along various bars and restaurants (Thirsty Dog)…

…the festival offered a game and activity area for the young…

…and young at heart…

…corn hole boards set along the boardwalk…

…vendor booths offering clothing, accessories (Tour de Cleveland/Apricot Lane)…

…shot glasses (Margaritaville)…

…and Ohio Marijuana Card info…

…live music entertainment…

…plenty of drinks, including beer…

…cocktails…

…and adult lemonade…

…AND as you may have guessed by the second walking mascot…

…a plethora of bacon (Punch Bowl Social – chocolate dipped candied bacon)!

Local restaurants (Melt Bar and Grilled – bacon mac and cheese)…

…and area food trucks came together (Square Scullery)…

…serving bacon croquets (The Croqueteria)…

…fried Brussels sprouts topped with bacon and honey (Square Scullery).

…bacon dishes in bowls, on sticks and in sandwiches (Sebastian’s Meats)…

…and any bacon combination imagined (West Side Market Cafe).

This did not exclude desserts, as bacon was sprinkled onto toasted cake donut sundaes (Graeter’s)…

…baked into chocolate chip cookies (The Sweet Spot)…

…and even carmelized before being mixed into maple cookie dough (Cleveland Cookie Dough).

Delicious!
