Cyclops Fest – Yellow Springs, Ohio – My Experience

This post documents my experience on September 13, 2014.

Just south of the sunflower field on Route 68…

…creative vendors set up shop at the John Bryan Center…

…for a special event called the Cyclops Fest.

Organized by Urban Handmade and clay + stan advertising

…the festival put together a nice assortment of vendors…

…selling such things as colorful bird houses (Backyard Living)…

…practical and decorative wooden items (Wildwoods by Larry/Darrin’s Carved Bears)…

…shirts galore (State of Devotion/Gem City).

…and plenty of funky items…

…that included marionettes and bears (Tindle Bears)…

…Sriracha Marshmallows (240)…

…spit-wad targets (Ben Riddlebarger)…

…macabre fun…

…monster children art (Zach Kestermann)…

…and cyclops-esque caricatures (Over the Line)…

…of playing children who really didn’t look like cyclopes at all (Grass Roots Enrichment).

Refreshments served included Yellow Springs Brewery beers…

…and everything from tacos, croquettes, cupcakes, juice…

…and even some Alaskan reindeer sausage if ever tempted (Paranormal).

I decided to pick up my lunch from Zombie Dogz…

…where I got this hot dog with flambéed banana, cashew butter, bacon and Cheerios…

…only to finish it later with some ice cream from Young’s Jersey Dairy

…before finding myself smiling back in the sunflower field.
