This post documents my experience on November 16, 2014.
As the autumnal air got colder…
…I decided to seek shelter at Akron’s Temple Israel…
…and warm myself with an Art and Jewish Food Festival.
Right as I walked inside…

…I found handcrafted jewelry made out of silverware (Silver Wear) and gemstones (Amy’s Artifacts)…
…as well as an informative booth from the Jewish Community Board of Akron.
And just when I thought the art ended with a small room further ahead…
…I turned around and discovered a huge room filled with vendors…
…offering everything from playful homemade aprons (Cindy’s Sewing Cellar)…
…to magical wooden sculptures (Mark Dunaye).
There were even cakeballs and challah for sale in case you started to tire from all the shopping (Cohen’s Confections)!
Speaking of food…
…this room also served as a dining area and food serving line…
…where guests could get their fill of fresh corned beef from Ivan’s Diner…
…as well as chopped liver…
…stuffed cabbage…
…matzo ball soup…
…kugel…
…challah…
…and more.
And with everyone getting their trays filled with food…
…you knew that these tables wouldn’t be empty for long (so get there early!).
